Windows Vista appears with many ranges of gadgets but only few of the gadgets are being displayed on the desktop sidebar because they are set in default and if the user wants to use the gadgets following are the steps to use the gadgets for the windows. It contains gadgets like Clock, Headlines, Temperature and many more.

How does the Clock work?

Whenever the user tries to spot the clock gadget two keys appear on the upper right hand side of the gadget and also the close button which is the topmost key and also with the option button. If the user clicks on the close key the clock will get disappeared from the sidebar and the key at bottom side which is just below the close key is to name the clock and also the user can change the time as well as the zone.

Kindly Note all the other gadgets have an Options key. If any gadgets does not have option key the user can easily change the setting.



How does Slide Show work?

Next try resting the pointer on the Slide Show gadget, which displays a continuous slide show of pictures on your computer.When you point to Slide Show, the Close and Options buttons will appear near the upper-right corner of the gadget.Clicking the Options button allows you to choose which pictures appear in your slide show, control the speed at which your slide show plays, and change the transition effect between pictures.

How to change slide show picture

The sidebar keeps on displaying images in the picture folder and the user can easily spot the image to set the image as desktop wallpaper just the user have to click on the option key and after that in the folder box the user have to select the location of the image where you want to display the image as wallpaper or screensaver and at last click on the OK.


How to set the slide show speed and transition effect

The user can also modify the speed of the slide show only by clicking on the option button and after that in the picture list the user can select a specific number between each picture and select even the transition list to choose a specific transition whichever the user like and at last click on the OK.


How does Feed Headlines work?

Feed Headlines is another gadget in the Windows Vista which gets regularly updated from the website which delivers feeds which is also known as RSS feeds this feeds are mostly used in the blogs or else to distribute news. And for this the user should be connected to the internet connection and if its set in default it want display any headlines and if the user want to check the headlines just click on the key to view headlines and whenever the user spot the feed headlines it will display the close as well as the option key on the upper right hand side of the gadget. The user has to click on the option key to select the available feeds or else you can also select your own feed from the Web.

How to choose a feed from the web with the help of Internet explorer

It is very simple to choose a feed from the Internet Explorer just the user have to open the IE by clicking on the Start button which is on the left hand side of the taskbar and select the Internet explorer and surf to a particular webpage which has feeds (If that webpage has the feed, the feed button positioned on the Internet Explorer which change it color from gray to orange) and after that click on the arrow which is situated next to feed key and the feed will appear in the list and select which feed you like the most.

And after that whichever webpage appear just click on the key to subscribe the feed and it will be displayed in your Feed Headlines.

How to display a feed in feed headline gadget

The user only has to spot the Feed Headlines, and then select the Options button
And after that in the Display this feed list, the user have to just select the feed he want to display and at last click on the OK button.
