You have filed regularly used programs and tools in the quick launch menu. But since you mostly use the keyboard, you would prefer to access the contents of the menu without a mouse.

In Vista, you can start the applications in the quick launch menu from the keyboard by pressing [Win] and one of the numerical keys [0] to [9] below the function keys.Numpad keys cannot be used for this. The [Win] + [1] combination opens the first program to the right of the 'Start' button, [Win] + [2] opens the application linked with the second icon etc. [Win] + [0] starts the tenth application in the quick launch menu.
Note:
Unfortunately, only the first ten applications in the bar can be accessed using this method.
