PREVIOUS versions of Windows did not have tool to capture specific portions of your screen. A user would either have to purchase or download: a free screen shot capturing tool or go through the tedious task of hitting the pressing [PrntScr] after which he would have to use a third party application to save the image.
HOWEVER, Vista comes preloaded with a tool that allows users to take screenshots and edit them too. To use the screen-shot tool, follow the steps below:
- Click 'Start I Accessories I Snipping Tool' .
- Click 'New' and select an option from the drop-down list. For example, 'Window Snip'.
- Select the window to be captured.
- You can view the captured window in the editing window.
- You can use tools to highlight important objects within the image, send the image as an attachment or save the file on your system.
