PREVIOUS versions of Windows did not have tool to capture specific portions of your screen. A user would either have to purchase or download: a free screen shot capturing tool or go through the tedious task of hitting the pressing [PrntScr] after which he would have to use a third party application to save the image. HOWEVER, Vista comes preloaded with a tool that allows users to take screenshots and edit them too. To use the screen-shot tool, follow the steps below:
Click 'Start | Accessories | Snipping Tool' .
Click 'New' and select an option from the drop-down list.
For example, 'Window Snip'. Select the window to be captured. You can view the captured window in the editing window. You can use tools to highlight important objects within the image, send the image as an attachment or save the file on your system.
