Default Recovering Vista with recovery disk after Install of Ubuntu

Is it still feasible to run the recovery disks to reinstall vista to factory settings that came with my PC once I have installed Ubuntu over the entire drive partition?

I was in doubt because vista crashed on me after I tried to run "Gateway Recovery Management" as well as I wasn't able to boot again. So I installed Ubuntu which didn't identify any other OS's on the hard drive. What I wish to do restoring vista then install Ubuntu 32bit.
    (Currently running Ubuntu 64bit)

Those discs will allow you to clean the hard drive as well as create fresh setup, as if you had just bought the PC. You can then set up Ubuntu in a dual-boot if you hope.
