Thread: Web-Cam gone AWOL

I have an HP Pavilion Entertainment laptop model 9289ea with a integrated webcam which has stopped to utility as, I believe, both Microsoft or HP threw a scrap at me which I now cannot find, I'll charge Microsoft.

HP has tried to secure to no avail, finally recommending I execute a system recovery, which I am unwilling to do because on the c: disk is the OS as well as a load of my material which, by the way HP recommend installing application on to the d: drive. There is a recovery partition on the e: drive which we are informs to steer clear of, and I have. I cannot locate the webcam entry in the device manager either. Any help would be really respected.

Then it could be a hardware malfunction. Just go to your device mark and check for the webcam if there’s any yellow question or exclamation mark. And if it is you need to install proper drivers of the webcam.
