    Default Driver Blocked Due to Compatibility Issues

    On start-up a window entitled “Program Compatibility Assistant” emerges with the following note:

    This driver is blocked due to compatibility problem. The driver recognized is: “Driver: Sonic Solutions DLA”

    What is worse is that this window keeps popping up normally as I try to work. I have tried to eliminate this wrong driver through the Vista remove programs course without success. It seems that was installed by DELL on my PC at the factory along with other files linked with Sonic Solutions’ Roxio Creator – My DVD Combo.

    I do not use the program. Every time Vista loads, this irritating pop-up window emerges with the note that the driver is blocked due to incompatibility problems. No assist is obtainable on line when one selects the “Check for solutions online” option. The answer given is that “Windows will inform you when solutions become accessible.” The first thought is that this solution will emerge along about the time donkeys fly.

    Is there a way to eliminate this file?

    Default

    Try to clean the registry of the system. I used regedit to search for every entry of SONIC, ROXIO, as well as DLA. I used ctrl/F for searching moreover deleted all entries having to do with these that looked logical to me. Afterwards, the only development is that I only have to see the fault 2 or 3 times at startup where I hit the x on the error windows.

    Regarding the other error 80040155 in Windows Media Center music library problem mentioned the solution as follows:

    1. Just Click on Start->All Programs->Accessories.

    2. And right click Command Prompt and select "Run as administrator".

    3. And again click Continue when the User Account Control window appears.

    4. Type the following command and press Enter:

    regsvr32 wmp.dll

    And reboot your PC to test the issue.
