Thread: Add Encrypt / Decrypt Options to Windows 7 / Vista Right-Click Menu

In Windows 7 or Vista, there is an in-built file encryption, which you will use. You may be fascinated in putting a feature to the right-click menu to more effortlessly encrypt and decrypt your files, moderately having to employ the file properties dialog box.

Putting together this to the list couldn’t be easier, there is only a single registry key to place.

Explore regedit.exe through the start menu search box, and after that below registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\Advanced



In the right-hand side, make a new 32-bit DWORD value known as EncryptionContextMenu and give it a value of 1.



Now when you right click by mouse on a that file, you will observe a new option known as Encrypt.



You will detect that the file’s title become now green as the files are getting encrypted, representing that it has been encrypted. The right click feature will also now alter to Decrypt.
