I like to get immediate access achievable to folders on my desktop, which generally means putting something onto the taskbar if possible. Computer menu as a folder can be added to taskbar for easiest access to all drives. You can use this tip for any folder that you want.
Folder can be added to taskbar, by just right-click on the taskbar and select the Toolbars menu, and then click on New Toolbar.
Just locate the folder that you want in this example we will pick the Computer icon and then click on Select Folder.
Now you can view that the Computer folder right there on the taskbar. If you click the little arrows it will come up and you can browse to all your drives.
You can also add Desktop to the toolbar.
This similar thing works on Windows 7 also.
