If you will not able to just see the point of the desktop widgets contained in Windows 7, or also the Sidebar gadgets in Windows Vista, you will be pleased to know that you can simply inactive them with a simple settings change.
If you are newbie to Windows 7, the widgets are available via the desktop context list, and can be went down anywhere on the desktop screen you want.
Disabling Sidebar/Desktop Gadgets in Windows 7
To inactive them, easily explore up Control Panel and give “features” into the search box. Discover the link for “Turn Windows features on or off” and unwrap it.
Uncheck the checkbox of ‘Windows Gadget Platform’, clack the OK tab and reboot your PC when it’s all executed.

After that the feature shouldn’t appear in the list.
And there won’t be any extra widgets laying around on your desktop screen.
