    Default Create a Shortcut to the Stored User Names and Passwords Dialog in Windows

    If you have ever saved a password once connecting to a website that needs authentication, for a remote desktop session or a mapped drive, you may contain wondered where those passwords are saved.

    You can include this into your folder of helpful shortcuts. Confident, you may not utilize it each day, but it is excellent to recognize how to do it.

    Create the Shortcut

    Right-click on the desktop and choose New \ Shortcut from the menu.

    Enter the following command, in the location box, and then on the next page provide the shortcut a useful name.

    rundll32.exe keymgr.dll, KRShowKeyMgr

    Name:  3.png
Views: 115
Size:  14.7 KB

    Once you have the shortcut, you will want to right click and choose Properties and click the Change Icon button on the Shortcut tab.

    If you change the textbox value to the following file, you can get the identical icon for the shortcut.

    C:\Windows\System32\keymgr.dll

    Name:  5.jpg
Views: 244
Size:  10.3 KB

    Now you should have a nice matching icon…

    Name:  6.png
Views: 223
Size:  11.4 KB

    Which will open up the Stored User Names and Passwords dialog?

Size:  14.2 KB

    Note: you can also use this to backup and repair your saved passwords, and it should work in Windows 7, Vista or XP.
