Do you like Ubuntu require a username and password, and clicking on the icon, you can let the same thing for Windows Vista in a somewhat similar processes input style. This is really most useful for home users and domain users already have to see this screen.
It is not exactly the identical style as Ubuntu, but it is the closest we are gonna obtain.
Manual Registry Tweak
Open regedit.exe through the start>> search or run box>>navigate down the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Policies\System
Generate these two new 32-bit DWORD values, giving them both a value of 1:
• DisableCAD
• DontDisplayLastUserName
To remove this tweak just deletes the two keys.
Downloadable Registry Tweak
Download and unzip, and after that double-click on UbuntuLogonVista.reg in the file. There is another registry file to delete it.
