Default Windows Vista will not boot

    Hello,all

I have dell inspiron 1440 running Vista (32 Bit) as original OS. Yesterday I ran windows liveone care on my system because it was running slow and help item recommended it. After it was finished "fixing" registry errors it found PC rejects to boot. I tried auto repair and restoring to three latest restore points, and none of this has given any results. I am a Soldier deployed to Iraq my PC is my lifeline, my only real connection to my family. I want to attempt to obtain this solved as soon as possible. Any help is appreciated. Before unsuccessful restart I utilize an administrative command prompt to stop DEP could this have caused problem?

When does it hang up? What is the function key(s) to go in to safe mode? If you obtain Safe mode with command prompt you must re-enable DEP. Do you have a disk to reset to Factory settings if that needed?

It goes directly to windows failed to start appropriately does not "hang up". And auto repair begins, which states every time that it cannot fix. I then go to advanced restore options, and attempt restore points but that does not solve problem. I accessed command prompt from advanced system restore menu and allowed DEP but nothing happen. There is no restore disc for my PC, it has restore sector, I have not resorted to that yet hoping to save my files as I have some things on there that I will not be able to restore.

If you find command prompt you can save all your files, do you have a Drive "D" or any memory attaches to copy them?

Well if you place it in earlier than starting up you can test if DOS recognize it.
Do you recognize what Drive name it generally obtains?

    E?

    F?

Okay, attempt to go there and type in dir that must give a list of Files on Directory that you are in at this time.

I think that you have access to other PC and that is you are using now?

So if it copied any fields to your memory stick you could test it on this PC?
