Thread: How to Install Office on Vista ?

Could you tell me if Office 2003 works with Vista before I load it onto my new computer from my old one, or is there a problem with it?

Office 2003 will work fine in Windows Vista. The newer edition, Office 2007, was designed specifically for Vista, but either will work without a problem in both Windows XP and Windows Vista. You mention loading it from the old PC - bear in mind that your licence may not entitle you to do this unless you bought it as a separate copy rather than it being already installed on the computer.

In that case you should be fine, but you may find that the automatic activation of the
software over the internet doesn't work so you'll need to call the telephone number that appears and explain that you've removed the software from the old computer and are installing it on the new one. If your copy of Office 2003 came with the computer, check the licence terms because they may not allow you to install it onto the new one.

Follow these steps

Get the Office 2007 program on CD, or place the program integrated with your new PC. You can purchase it from local electronics stores, or you can order it from online specialty stores.

Insert the CD into your computer and follow the instructions on the screen. When you insert a CD-ROM, the application will load and you will be prompted for confirmation and password.

Run the installation wizard. Office 2007 is a program of Microsoft, which can automatically start the Setup wizard will guide you through this process. When the dialog box "autopilot" box, choose "Run Wizard" option.

Check the program's help information if the application will not install.
