A Media Access Control, or MAC, address is a unique locater related with network adapters like Ethernet, wireless or Bluetooth devices. Similar to an IP address, the MAC address is unique to the particular hardware and is assigned by the producer. However, it does not differ or change like IP address. Finding laptop's MAC address in Windows Vista is very easy.
• Click "Start".
• In "Search", enter 'cmd' to open a command prompt.
• In command window, enter 'getmac'.
• In the category mentioned "physical address" are all MAC addresses related with the network devices installed on the laptop.
