If you've recently upgraded your hardware and installed new drivers, but are still experiencing some problems, you might need to uninstall the old drivers to avoid further problems.
A major problem here is that these drivers are not visible in the Device Manager window. In this tip we show you how to tweak some system settings to get rid of old drivers on your system.
Follow these simple steps to go about the same.
~ Go to 'Start/All Programs/Accessories'.
~ Right-click the command prompt and select the 'Run as Administrator' option from the context menu.
~ On the command prompt, type in 'SET DEVMGR_SHOW_ NONPRESENT_DEVICES=l' and hit [Enter].
~ To open device manager from command prompt, type in 'devmgmt.msc' and hit [Enter].
~ From the View menu, select 'Show hidden devices' option. You will now be able to view all hidden drivers.
~ Right-click the name of a driver that is not required and select the 'Uninstall' option from the context menu that appears.
