    Default Vista does not detect printer

    I recently buy new Canon PIXMA MP496 printer and connect it to PC. But the problem is this printer is not detected by my Vista. So please give any solutions to solve this problem. Any help will be appreciated.

    First check that printer is attached appropriately to PC. Then again attach printer by taking out USB chord from USB port of PC.

    Ensure that proper driver software is installed for Canon printer in Vista. If driver software and other printer related software are not installed properly then you must install all software. This will solve your problem.

    After connecting printer to PC then check that PC shows something like 'new hardware found' or not. If this shown then Canon printer is good and this problem is related to software part of printer. If this doesn’t show then either USB Cable of printer is not functioning or problem with printer. Ensure that printer is turned on.
