Should it ever be necessary to repair, reinstall or upgrade Windows, you may need to boot from a Windows installation CD. If this doesn't seem to work, restart the PC and immediately start tapping the delete key. The Bios screen should appear - if it doesn't, restart and try the same technique but using the F2 key. Navigate to the 'Boot' section using the cursor keys and press Enter.
This shows the order in which the computer will try to boot: you want to boot from the CD-Rom drive first, then the hard disk, so change the options to match this. Be careful not to change anything else in the Bios - if you're concerned that you may have, press the Escape key to quit then try again. Once you've changed the boot order, save the settings and exit. Restarting the PC with with the Windows CD inserted should now present the option 'Press any key to boot from CD ... ' .
