Windows Vista needs more memory than Windows XP to offer the advanced services and features that are now available, such as search and the new graphics capabilities. Windows Vista is likely to use as much memory as it can. Though, as you open more and more programs, Windows Vista will scale back its memory usage so that you can use more of it.
