How can I turn off automatic updates in Vista?

Press on the "Start" button on the bottom left side of your monitor, then hit on "All Programs" to show a list of the programs obtainable on your PC. Press on "Windows Update" to show the "Windows Update" dialog box. Alternative are show on the left side of the dialog box. Press on "Change Settings" to sight automatic update options. Your current automatic update settings are chosen. Modify your selection to "Never check for updates." The warning message, "Your PC will be more vulnerable to security threats and performance problems without the newest updates," appears. To verify your choice, press on "OK" at the bottom of the dialog box.

To turn off automatic updates in Vista follow the given steps:

1. Boot the PC and click the "Start".

2. Put your pointer on "All Programs" until the programs menu shows all available programs. Once open, click on "Windows Update."

3. Then click on "Change Settings". Click on the "Never check for updates" circle to choose this option.

4. After selecting to turn off automatic updates click "OK" to save and exit.
