Thread: windows Vista PC work as web server for work group

There are two another computer on the home network, each in the same work group. One is running windows XP/SP3 and the another is running Windows 7. Both computer can check my computer, and I've shared the web sites' directory, so they can check all the files. If they enter \ACD in IE or Windows Explorer, they acquire the file list, but if they enter ACD into a browser, they time out. coming in the raw IP address gives the same results.

I think you have to assure your Router's ports from inbound or outbound granting FTP - Port 21 open. utilize TCP positions while opening that port.

later disarraying throughout with the router's settings for for a while and acquiring nowhere, I ended up making a new inbound rule for the Windows Firewall for TCP port 21, with regulatings by IP address like to what I did for the Web Server. I paused to make a new one, after finding and changing the one I needed for the Web Server. I had believed that perhaps I was simply expecting in the wrong place, but after making the port rule, all worked fine.

I gave you a clue about Port 21 that wanted to be clear for all FTP to pass by, or with limitations,that is Users name and password.
