    Red face Vista Inspirat 2

Vista Inspirat 2 comes from the Bricopack family hosted on crystalxp.net. Bricopacks are known for their no-fret installers and clean looks. Like VTP, Vista Inspirat also transforms your XP into Vista. The difference being it uses minimal third-party software, thus reducing the stress on memory.

So you won't get the fancy sidebar, transparency and Flip3D effects, but you will still get a decent looking Vista-like desktop with changed icons, visual styles, and cursors without putting much stress on your RAM.

The process to install or uninstall is very simple-just run the installer using the 'express' install option and reboot after installation. To uninstall, go to add/remove programs and remove the pack.

    The Others
Apart from these three heavyweights, you can also find a variety of other packs such as Vista Mizer, Crystal Clear, Longhorn Inspirat etc. VistaMizer tries a little too hard to perfectly emulate Vista, which leads to its downfall. The fonts don't
look good and it gives an overall bland experience. The other packs from the Bricopack family, like the Crystal Clear are nice packs if you just want a slight change. 1 They don't use any third-party software and just alter the visual styles, icons and logon screens.

We also found packs to transform XP to OS X v1 0.5 and Ubuntu Linux, however these packs were not compiled into installers and would require manual editing to successfully install. Even if you manage to install the Ubuntu pack successfully,
it only alters the visual style, cursor and icons. You do not see accurate changes like the bootscreen or login screen. The OS X v1 0.5 pack gave us a mediocre and half-hearted experience. All it did was change the login screen and visual style. The icons still remain the same. We suggest you stay away until somebody compiles a proper installer for them. However, if you really want to try these packs out, the Linux pack can be found on /windows/ ulti mate-I i nux-tra nsform atio n¬pack-for-windows-xp.html and the Leopard pack can be found on /2007/10/28/ ultimate¬tra nsfo rm atio n-wi ndows-xp-to-mac¬osx-Ieopard/.
