There are many Windows processes that run in the background and slow down the computer.One of these is Windows Messenger, which is switched on by
default whether you use it or not. If you do not use Messenger you can prevent it from running.To do this, first open Messenger (the program file is called 'msmsgs.exe' and it's in the Messenger folder within the Programs Files folder on the main hard disk).

Now open the Tools menu,select Options and click on the Preferences tab. Next untick the checkboxes labelled 'Run Windows Messenger when Windows starts' and 'Allow Windows Messenger to run in the background' and click on OK. Close Messenger and restart your Pc. Messenger will no longer launch automatically and this will free up system resources.
