MMC lslncluded in the Windows 2000 operating system and al;;mns on the Windows 98 and XP family of operating systems. With MMC you can create administrative tools with the help of snap-ins, provided by the Microsoft and third party software vendors. Let us now undertake the following steps to open the MMC window.

1. Move the mouse-pointer over the Start button and click the left mouse-button. A push-up menu appears. Inside the push-up menu, move the mouse-pointer over the Run option and click the left mouse-button.

2.The Run-dialog box appears. Type mmc and press the Enter key.

3.A Console1 window wi1h---a child window Console Root appears.
