You can create a restore point manually by 'using the System Restore wizard, available within System Tools. You should manually create a restore point whenever you intend to replace driver or software program or, whenever you download something from the Internet. In order to make restore point, you must be Administrator of the computer and have access to all devices. and programs installed on computer. In case you are not administrator then you should have sufficient rights or privileges to create a restore point.

Let us now undertake the following steps and learn to create restore point manually with the help of System Restore wizard.

1. Move the mouse-pointer over the Start button and click the left mouse-button. A push-up menu appears

2. Inside push-up menu, place the mouse-pointer over All Programs option. Another menu appears

3. Inside menu, place the mouse-pointer over the Accessories option. A sub-menu appears

4. Inside sub-menu, move the mouse-pointer and place over the System Tools option. Another sub-sub-menu appears

5. In the sub-sub menu, place the mouse-pointer over System Restore option and click the left mouse-button

6. A welcome dialog box of System Restore wizard appears. By default. Restore my computer to earlier time appears selected

7. Move the mouse-pointer over radio-button beside Create a restore point option and click the left mouse¬button

10. After selecting the option for creating restore point. move the mouse-pointer over Next button and click the left mouse-button

11. Next dialog box. Create a Restore Point; of System Restore wizard appears In this dialog box you need to type a brief descrirtion about restore point for easy summarize.

12. By default. a blinking cursor should appear inside text box under the Restore point description option. In case it does not appear then move the mouse-pointer over text box and click the left mouse-button. Now type a brief description for restore point. If possible then mention some digits in description to resemble date on
which restore point is created. For instance. type Comdex PC on 20 Jul 2005 as restore point description

13. After typing restore point description. move the mouse¬pointer over Create button and click the left mouse¬button

14. In few moments. Windows XP creates a restore point and Restore Point Created dialog box appears along with date. time and description of restore point

15. Click on Home button. The welcome screen of System Restore wizard appears
