After installing some software, my system become slow?

You have just installed some software and rebooted your computer, and you have now found that your computer has become slow and unresponsive. Well, we have good news and bad news. The bad news is that the software you just installed may have caused this. The good news is that we may be able to help. Here are some possible causes:

• You may have installed a virus or spyware:

This usually applies to software installed via the Internet. If you went to a website and were prompted to install software, you may have been tricked into installing a piece of software that can do great harm to your system.

• You may have replaced a critical system file:

The software may have overwritten or deleted a critical system file. The System Restore utility should be able to help you out of this jam.

• You may have replaced a driver:

The installation may have replaced a hardware driver.
