Why Do My Old Applications Run More Slowly on My New Operating System?
Older applications are just that: older. They were meant to run on old machines with far less resources than current models. As a result, they will not rim as fast as newer software. The reasons usually have to do with the way the programs were written. Most older software is known as 16-bit software. They were written for use on DOS or Windows-based machines and ran on 16-bit processors. They can be extremely unpredictable when run on a newer 32-bit machine.
