Thread: Resetting User Password

Sometimes it is necess'lry to reset a user's password, for example, if the user has forgotten his or her password and cannot log in. You must be the Login Server administrator to reset a user's password. Here is the procedure to reseat the password for a user domain account:

1. Log on as an administrator.

2. Click on the Start button and place mouse-pointer over Programs option. In list of programs. place mouse-pointer over the Administrator Tools. A sub-menu appears. Click over the Active Directory User and Computer.

3. Active Directory User and Computer Management dialog box appears. In left pane. click over the Users.



4. In the details pane. right-click over the user name select Reset Password option.

5. A Reset Password dialog box appears. Type the new password twice in both password boxes.

5. Click over check box beside the User Must Change the Password in the Next Logon option.

6. Click over the OK button.
