A roaming user profile is simply a user profile that has been copied to a network share so that it can be create a shared folder on the server to hold the profiles. You can name the shared folder as you want but most administrator call it users. After you have created the shared user folder, you can copy the profile to the server by following these steps:

1. Logon the computer by using an account other than the one user want to make a user account.

2. Open the Control Panel window and double-click over System icon.

3. Click the Advance tab and then click the Setting button in the user profile section.

4. A User profile dialog box will appear. Select the profile and click on Copy To option.

5. A Copy To dialog box will appears. Type the path and name for the roaming profile and copy profile to the box.

6. Click on the OK button, the profile is copied.

Now go back to the server, log on as administrator, and follow these steps to designate a roaming profile for the user's domain account.

1. Click on the Start button and place mouse-pointer over Programs option. In list of programs, place mouse¬pointer over Administrative Tools. A sub-menu appears. Click over the Active Directory Users and Computers option.

2. Active Directory Users and Computers dialog. box appears. Right-click on the user account and select Properties option.

3. User Property dialog box appears. Click on the Profile tab and type the path and name of the profile in the Profile Path text box.
