[Q] I am using a PC with Windows XP Professional running on a 1.70 GHz Intel Pentium IV processor with 512 MB of RAM. I frequently update Windows from the Internet. One day, while updates were being installed, my PC went off due to a power failure. From that day onwards, I have been receiving the message "You may be a victim of software counterfeiting, resolve now or resolve later", Only when I click on the 'Resolve' button am I able to use the computer. I am worried and don't want the updates anymore.

If your operating system is legal and the record of its activation got damaged during a check because of the power cut, use the same serial number that came with the Windows XP CD and activate Windows again over the Internet. If you live in an area where power cuts occur frequently, consider investing in a UPS to prevent damage in the future.
