Default First look at Windows 7

    Introduction:

From Microsoft comes what will be its new OS, Windows 7 arrives, Microsoft presented its first public beta release, namely the Build 7000, this beta is available to everyone. At first it would only be available to beta testers officers, but due to leaks P2P networks and the great acceptance and expectation, Microsoft decided to release 2.5 million users, this figure being overwhelmed by requests for discharge, have finally decided not to limit the download and let everyone who wants to try it, because it benefits them, after the bad image left by Windows Vista.

This beta can be downloaded free of charge by entering your Hotmail email, password and filling out a simple form at:

It will provide a key to formalize your beta, you download a download manager called Download Manager and then a 2.44 GB ISO image that you should burn a DVD with Nero or the program that you use to burn ISOs and how not also you can find on P2P networks. The beta does not come in Castilian, unfortunately, can be installed in other languages, so English is the most helpful in these cases.

Minimum requirements for installing the beta:

    - Processor: 1 GHz to 32 or 64 bits.

    – 1 GB of RAM.

    - Hard disk with 16 GB of disk space.

    - Video Card compatible with DirectX9 and 128 MB of memory.

    - DVD recorder.

    Installation:

We recommend installing it on a clean formatted partition of at least 16 GB. We must prepare the partition is more cumbersome to work around the process; with any type P. Paragon Partition Magic or Magic is very fast. Insert the disk into the drive Windows 7 reader, reboot the computer (we have to allow booting from the DVD drive in the system BIOS, but most PCs have it enabled by default), if you have other systems Operational Update no option but the option Custom (Advanced) Installation and manually choose the partition on which you want to install.

If we do that from Windows, unless you want to replace your OS, "never an option updates.

W7B installation is similar to that of Windows Vista, between 15-20 minutes depending on the pc we can take it, the pc reboots a few times during the installation and takes about 9 GB.

    Video demonstration of the installation:
(Video courtesy of You tube, thanks to its author / s)

    Important:

-Putting the language of the Spanish international keyboard
-Have the Key installation by hand, but we can skip this step at first, but once installed W7B amicably asked us to enter (the password is achieved on the same page of the beta download from Microsoft or by the network).

Once installed, we will restart our pc with dual boot comprising:

    Other versions of Windows (XP)
    Windows Vista
    Windows7 -------> chose the latter.

In the case of SO 3 installed.

    First screen just start W7B:

As you can see the change is noticeable, is unlike anything to have features of XP and Vista but improved. (Only icons of the trash and send feedback, the rest have been added when you install some programs and I have drawn to take over manually). The big change is the new toolbar, wider now and the only icons of open programs and start fast, the text was deleted. This bar is transparent effects and miniature display of open programs when we move the mouse cursor over them as I had Windows Vista, but better to allow the ability to view all open programs and choose which we want to maximize.

    News:

Among the new features are the ability to switch several wallpapers, this is totally new for Windows because it had no previous version, these wallpapers are changed alone, according to the time we want, by default every 30 minutes.

Many developments that brought us this new Windows 7, but now look at what really interests us most, as it moves to the new Microsoft OS, RAM consumption and performance.

In the initial state, unopened and programs you have installed almost anything, just free A vast antivirus installed recently and noticed it goes much faster than light, much lighter, its performance is closer to what the Old XP to Vista.

Memory consumption remains high, but if we consider that an operating system is designed to go on the market in 2010, we must take care that our pc's must meet minimum requirements, have at least 2gb of Ram, we do not know like riding with less memory, but at this point, it is logical that 1gb is short. As we said the capture of 2 GB of RAM is consuming 35-36% around the 730 MB, at rest and just have open programs, only the windows you use to run and antivirus.

Microsoft promised that Windows 7 we booted just 15 seconds, but reality dictates that figure is now closer but, of course it depends on the pc we have. In tests carried out are taken on a pc with 3 partitions, XP, Vista and W7, and these were the results.

Time Operating System to show the desktop

    Windows 7 Ultimate
    (Beta, Build 7000, 32-bit) 28 seconds
    Windows Vista Ultimate (32-bit, SP1) 33 seconds
Windows XP Professional (SP3) 40 seconds

These are the times achieved in the operating system reaches the logon screen:

Time Operating System display the session
    Windows 7 Ultimate
    (Beta, Build 7000, 32-bit) 20 seconds
    Windows Vista Ultimate (32-bit, SP1) 24 seconds
Windows XP Professional (SP3) 29 seconds

Gradually approaching the goal, the first Beta is already at about 20 seconds, but these results depend on the team possess and seeing the trend is improving on previous Betas, scratching Andalusia chromo seconds in each version.

    Conclusion

Despite being a beta version, in development, the new Microsoft operating system does not disappoint, have problems with drivers, being normal, as it is not official yet and is not the same test a system with all components properly installed to try it with the owners to bring Windows drivers, still surprised at the softness and lightness with which he moves, to be well optimized for the first beta, even better than Windows Vista Final

The former contains the Windows Vista interface, but the improvement for this new version, the toolbar has been completely changed, as the Sidebar Gadgets, which is now optional and transparent, is not loaded from the start as in the view.

The core of this system seems to have been improved and quite clean, there is not an onerous view, is painted as a lightweight, intuitive operating system, if you are already accustomed to Windows Vista.

Being a beta, it is still early to draw definitive conclusions, since the operating system must be tested with demanding programs and games of last generation to see how it develops and manages, for the moment is on the right track, hopefully to final version is fully optimized and we will not disappoint.

My first review of something, do not be too cruel you can modify, expand, improve, rectify

    Awesome... very good and complete

the only thing missing in my view, is proving a demanding game (do not know if you can) and test fps.

Even without this, you have done a very good review, congratulations

I installed it in Virtual Box, but remove it and if I set gadgets can serve the light or not, if you can Morale prefatory. And I do not understand is because they continue doing so for a 32-bit, that slows even more applications for the x64, with a view not understand, but with windows 7 No, I suppose that "windows 8" is only x64.

The problem is that my team there are no drivers yet for beta testing with the beta of W7 and therefore can not test games or programs still not worth anything to the evidence, and if not I will recommend my team to test these things is very new and is not to be.

I installed the beta completely bare, is working with the drivers that load by default.

So I am interested in someone who could complete the review but as it has been somewhat short in testing software that is what matters most to people and not so visual that it meets the eye.
