I have Windows XP on my Dell15251nspiron (2Gb) RAM, 250 GB Hard-disc. i want to install Windows Vista. i thought to downloading theme so that it will look like Vista. Please tell me the best option. What precautions i should take to protect data.

Windows Vista is a totally different operating system than Windows XP. It is more secure and stable. If you still want to use Windows XP and want it to appear visually like Windows Vista, you can download the Vista Visual Style Pack 6 from or you can also google for "Vista Transformation Pack". This will display hundreds of results of software that can let you change Windows XP theme as Windows Vista.

If you are willing to spend some money, you can definitely upgrade to the Windows Vista Home Edition. This makes more sense as you are migrating to a new operating system altoghether. To protect your data, you can backup your files regularly and install a good anti-virus software.
