The following are the steps for enabling the user to read the files which are unreadable on Windows XP professional this is applied to those users who are using a computer which has different accounts in it. If you are using a single account for all the users who use the computer you will need to see the wish to encrypt. Following is the process shown.

1. First Right-click on the folder and then click Properties from the option available on the right click.

2. Click the Advanced button from the option available.

3. After clicking the Advanced options check the "Encrypt contents to secure data" option from the list

4. Then click Apply and after clicking the Apply button click on Ok button.
