In Windows XP, pressing the Ctrl and Alt and Delete keys together on' your keyboard brings up the Windows Task Manager. This allows you to see what programs are running, examine how hard the computer is working and, if necessary, stop any programs that have crashed. In Windows Vista, pressing the same keys calls up a User options screen. From here you can log off, restart or lock your PC as well as switch users or change a password. Should you wish to start the Task Manager directly in Vista, press the Ctr!, Shift and Esc keys together.
