Windows XP will, as standard, try to persuade you not to open or modify certain folders on your computer. It will also present you with tasks that it thinks you might like to perform while browsing files. Both habits are useful for many people, but if you want Windows XP to leave you alone and allow you to do what you want, both can be stopped. Select Folder Options from the Tools menu, choose Use Windows Classic Folders and click Apply.
