Windows XP's Security Center alerts you of potential security problems, but can be overzealous. If you set automatic updates to download but not install automatically, for instance, it will alert you. To disable this open Security Center and click 'Change the way that Security Center alerts me' from the left menu. Untick any security systems that you don't want Security Center to alert you about then click OK. Note that we do not recommend disabling alerts for your anti-virus or firewall, and that important updates should be installed promptly to keep your PC safe.
