Default Computer randomly restarts/logs off after an extended time.

Hello all. I am having a frustrating issue with Windows XP desktop computer right now.

For no cause at all, it has been restarting/logging out arbitrarily for the last few days for a short time during the night and after a few hours of extensive time. I am also not sure whether it is a restart or log off since I have never in fact been aware to witness this actually happening. I also run my virus scanners and Torrents regularly when ever I'm in away, but when I wake up all of that just vanishes. I have also attempted for checking the "Power Options" in the control panel and I have attempted to see the "Display" in the control panel, the most popular advice, but none of them would work. What solution should I try to solve the problem? I would really like to get out of this problem and fix it.

I am also having a problem with my laptop which has been going on for over a few months now. When it sits by itself, it automatically freezes up, but it's still on. I also listen to it humming, the lights on the keyboard are on, the processes still go on, but the screen freezes and the wireless light turn’s orange instead of its normal blue. This is a Vista laptop, btw, so I guess that this is a KIND of it in the wrong place?

I think that either you are having bad power or must be having a deeply well-established virus on your computer. Also try backing up all your data and also reformatting your old hard drive in the computer. This should be clean out everything which might be harmful on there. Try getting back on your results if you have attempted it.
