Windows xp setup problem

I have just received a used hard drive because of my computer which will say at the start up would say like" no Operating system found". I have also realized that it was not recognizing the hard drive. I have also now put in the other hard drive, it now recognizes it. I have also changed the boot order to CD first, and hard drive second. I started to install windows; I got a point where it says "computer must reboot, the setup will continue after reboot". After doing the restarts it just goes back to the starting of setup and starts installing it at the beginning. Please if any one knows about what I’m doing wrong then be grateful for your help. I’m also about to throw this computer through the wall.

If you are having a Dell or HP, and there are even some aftermarket boards in the computer, they have a boot menu which you can use to set it one time to boot the drive instead of using the bios in the computer. Mainly it is F11 or F12. If yours doesn't have that then when it goes to reboot then press the key to get into the bios and then change the boot order back to hard drive first and then to the CD-ROM second.
