Thread: How do I remove write protection from a USB memory stick?

I have few files which are been located on a 128 MB which is my Flash memory stick. It won't allow me to add or remove the files from it. It says that: Drive can't be written on. Please, remove the write protection. There is nothing wrong with my memory stick, or HUBs. Memory stick's on utility program do not grant me to format the memory stick. Could it be so that it is just broken (it's just only 4 weeks old)?

How do I remove the write protection from the USB memory stick and can use it back normally?

My USB MP3 player had a Hold switch, that prohibited anything from occurrence when a button which was pressed during the playback, but I found out that it also prohibited me with the writing of files to the stick. When I unlocked the stick, everything started working fine.
Hope this might help anyone who has an issue with this kind of problem in their MP3 player.

I too have a similar problem, wherein there is no switch to lock and unlock. It is a "legend" memory stick. The memory stick by itself became write protected and does not allow me to do anything . . . . Is there any sort of solution for my problem?
