Thread: Help me with the windows XP pro creation

I have just lately installed windows XP pro on to my computer but it worked fine and now it requires to be activated. I have also tried by making a use of the product key that came with the coa sticker with the disk but it will not work. The disk I have also says that to reinstall the dell disk. I am lost now can anyone tell me what difference does it makes. The computer I have to put it on is not a dell and came with the windows XP home on it but the reinstalling of disk that came with my system would also not work. I have been told that I just desire to change the hard drive so that it is clean. Is this procedure right. I have also been told to reformat the old hard drive and then reinstall the XP pro but I don’t know how to do this.

I disbelief very much that you can use a DELL OEM disk to install XP on a different computer. That the copy is being tied only to the old Dell motherboard, and you won't be granted to allow activating it. The activation is also something that happens online, wherein your installation is been examined by the Microsoft.
Why didn't the disk which came with your system work on your computer?
