    Default XP without NCQ

So I’m installing XP on my laptop but I have to make alteration in my Sata from the native to legacy/compatible or something else. But I presume that this might also reduce the performance because I won’t have an NCQ. I also know that the drivers can be installed but I don’t have the floppy and don't really want to try hard to figure it out.

So I was taking into consideration that if it is still worth installing XP if I will be running a little slower, or will it not?

Not having of NCQ does not have a very much impact on the performance, unless your laptop also occurs with the file server for an important number of users or else you are running a bunch of VMs on it.
