Thread: Vital permissions required

I have made a very big mistake. Unknowingly I reset my permissions on the root c: drive and now I’m unable to login to the server, not as a administrator. I also require your help very urgently. Can anyone help me to fix this problem to get back to it as before?

I'm encountering with the same problem. I've too made a big mistake and have set the permissions on my c drive wrongly – and resulted that the computer will not boot because the SYSTEM account is unable to access the C drive. System is running Windows XP SP2. Is there any way from where I can reset the permissions again without formatting my C drive? Do I have to format my C drive, you suggest me the way to go about by doing this and reinstalling it.
