Forming of Windows Xp

The title bar mainly encloses the name of the program which you are currently working with and in some cases the name of the document which is been opened also appears on the desktop. In the top right corner of the opened document you can locate the minimize, maximize/restore, and close buttons on it. The minimize button can shrinks the window which it turns it into a button which is been positioned in the Windows XP task bar. The maximize option can also increase the size of the window to the whole screen. The restore button also returns the window to its original status. The close button also closes down the window. If you have done any modification in the document, then you will be requested that do you want to save the changes you made for it before closing it.

The menu bar which has the program functions structured in menus. For example, when you click on a File, the dissimilar operations which can be performed with the files been displayed. Then all the operations which allow us to locate a particular thing with the help of different menus of this bar. For opening a menu with the help of keyboard, you will first have to press the Alt key plus the underlined letter of the menu which you desire to open. For example Alt+ F opens the menu File. In there is no letter underlined then press the Alt key only. On a menu there will be an option which appears with a small arrow pointing to the right indicating that the option includes other options also in it. If you want the menu to explore the menu which is been related to the option for what you are doing, you then just need to preserve the option highlighted for a few seconds and the menu will appear on the desktop. If on a menu you able to locate the option that contains the three dots, it indicates that the option also requires more information for executing it; generally a dialog box will open in which you can place that information. After locating it and the option is been greyed or lighter colored it means that it is not possible to select it at the present. In this example Copy is much lighter colored than Paste option.

The tool bar also encloses of icons for directly executing some of the most often used commands. These commands can also be carried out from the menu bar.

The scroll bars also grant the user to move through out the page in a quick and simple manner. Just drag the bar with the help of mouse or click at the arrows. There are also bars for moving along the width of the page and bars to move along the height of the page. The tiny square with dots on the right is been used for changing the size of the window. Merely click and drag it.

The status bar is used for giving the user particular information. This information alters and mainly depends on the window which is been opened at that time. In this case it informs the user that you have certain free space on the disk, and that the total size of the disk is this much. This bar is not displayed by the default in Windows XP. You can also activate as well as deactivate it from the menu View --> Status Bar.
