Problem while installing USB Audio Device

I am trying to install a Lexicon MX300. It shows up in device manager under "USB controllers" instead of "Sound, video, game controllers" where it is supposed to be. Lexicon tech support threw up their hands at this point. And I am using Windows XP service pack 3 is there any way to prevent it?

Firstly try to install the drivers of USB device if provided to you and check whether it being supportable with the Windows XP service pack 3. As every time there been error note while installing audio device in Windows SP3 or you have to update your SP3 or try to install on Windows Service Pack 2 and if it works out then change your service pack or else the drivers of the USB Audio device must be corrupted ones.
