Thread: Making use of spare space

I have a Sony Vaio FS VGN-FS115E running Windows XP. There is a 60GB hard disk which is divided into C disk and D disk. 0 far, everything has been installed or downloaded onto the C disk, leaving the D disk empty. Windows is starting to complain about lack of space on the C disk. How can I use the space on the empty D disk?

The best and easiest way to make use of this space is to move the My Documents folder to the D disk. Windows takes care of moving the files and updating all the settings so it is very simple. Left-click on the Start button, right-click on My Documents and select Properties.

Click on OK and the files will be copied automatically.

If the folder is big, this may take some time. Do not try to access any of the files in the My Documents folder until the copying process has finished.
