The setting up of .NET Cleanup Utility is designed in such away that allow the user to manually remove .net software from the computer it is faced due to problems during Windows update or even during manual installation. It is most likely for windows installer to become damaged if installing or uninstalling a exact software or an update consistently fails in your computer and you even want to remove the leftover files and settings before trying again. It is also possible for your computer registry which becomes corrupt for many other reasons. The files get corrupted even due to some changes or modification in the registry setting which is used mostly by Windows installer if you are using any .NET Framework 1.0, 1.1 or 2.0 which get changeable during installation process.
Whenever you download any Cleanup utility and run the cleanup-tool.exe file and as you try to run the .exe file a dialogue box is being displayed which list all the programs that can be cleaned up with this software and for this you will have to reinstall the .NET Framework application.
When you choose any program from the list and click on the Cleanup Now and it will delete the entire file, registry and even the windows installer information which were linking to those programs including the entries for the programs in Add/Remove programs the information will be deleted from the list which act as Add-on to that cleanup.ini. And if you completely remove the setting of that program which is currently installed in your computer you will need to reinstall the program again to use it.
The version is even compatible with all the 32-bit Windows OS and even the previous version of the windows. And for this you need to install the version of windows installer in your computer.
