How to troubleshoot DVD playback

To troubleshoot DVD playback:
I. 1. Compatible decoder to verify the installation: In the Windows Media Player, in the Tools menu, clicks Options to see if available in the DVD label. If a compatible decoder is not correctly installed DVD tab will not be available. For the decoder to verify the compatibility of the installation, , which is listed at the end of the "More Information" section.
2. If you are unable to successfully play DVD, please try to play a different title, to ensure that the problem lies not in specific content.
3. If the problem persists, test the DVD player to provide a decoder (if any are included). If this combination does not work, Windows Media Player will not work. Further troubleshooting is not necessary to the local players, until the normal operation of the decoder. Please contact the decoder provider for more information.
4. Once you confirm the correct operation of the local player with the decoder, try reinstalling the DVD decoder application of any necessary patches.
5. And attempt to play new media relies on DirectShow, such as play .wmv file by means of Mplayer2.exe. To launch MPlayer2.exe, please click on the Start, and click on the Run, and type the mplayer2, and after that click OK.
6. Try to decrease video hardware speeding up in Windows Media Player:
Open the Windows Media Player, and in the Tools menu, clicks Options. And search for the Performance tab, and below video acceleration, shift the slider to close up to nothing, and after that click on the OK. If so, you can play the DVD, it shows that there are problems with your display adapter or driver. There may be driver updates the display card manufacturer.
II. The subsequently troubleshooting step is to reduce display settings:
o You have to click on the Start button, and select the Run command from the start menu, and after that type as desk.cpl in the Open box. Or, right-click an empty space of the desktop, and click on the Properties.
o On the Settings tab, shift the screen resolution slider to 800 X 600.
o And choose as 16-bit for the color quality, and finally click on the OK.
Several display drivers can not continue DVD playback, at a higher resolution and color depth. If this solution through the use of updated drivers, you can play the DVD a higher color depth and resolution.
