Whenever I start my computer it asks me to insert the system CD even though the operating system is already installed. Without this the computer does not boot. What should I do.

The problem here is a corrupted system file or a virus activity. To confirm, scan your computer using antivirus and antispyware tools, Use HljackThis.exe to get rid of any unwanted registry entries that could possibly be entered by a malware. Finally, use the command 'sfc /scannow' from the command prompt. This command will start the Windows System File Checker utility and scan all the necessary system files of the operating system. The utility will verify each file for corruption, deletion, and modifications done by a virus, human accident or a third party application. It will then replace the corrupted files with the original ones from the Windows installation CD, Once done, your system should work fine. We would advise you to install the latest service pack and update your system via the Internet using Windows Update.
