The New Hardware Wizard appears when you install a device for the first time or when you choose to update an existing driver. The option to connect to Windows Update to search for drivers is unlikely to succeed, so save time by selecting 'No, not this time'.


Insert the driver CD, select the recommended automatic install option and click Next. If no CD is available, but you have a driver that has been downloaded from the web, choose the option to install from a list or specific location.

To specify the location of a downloaded driver, click the Browse button and navigate to the folder on the hard disk where the downloaded driver is stored. Click OK and then click Next.
