Default How can i install two os in one pc

I want to install two operating systems namely Windows XP and Windows Vista. Presently I'm using Windows XP SP2 and I Have updated it with SP3. I have 80 GB of HDD, AMD Sempron 3000+ CPU, 512 MB DDR2 RAM and a DVD writer. With my configuration, is it possible to install two operating systems on the same computer? Would it affect the performance of the machine? Is there any change to be made in my hardware? If possible, please, let me know the step-by-step installation procedure. Also I need to buy a color printer, a scanner and a UPS. Which brand should I prefer? Should I go for printer/scanner/copier combo (MFD) or buy them separately. I will need to use them for photo printing and DTP work.

Installing two operating system on one machine is common and has no issues unless you know how to manage the data and installation of any software. But as per your PC configuration, you seem to have a slower computer for Windows Vista to perform smoothly, especially the memory capacity, You would need to upgrade the memory to at least 1 GB, though you can install Windows Vista on your present memory capacity, but the performance would be very slow. Also you will need to partition your hard drive and create an additional partition (if not already done) for Windows Vista to be installed. Once the necessary changes are made, first install Windows XP on drive C and then install Windows Vista on drive D. Opting for a multi-function device or MFD which includes a printer, scanner and copier would be advisable as it saves cost, space and power. You can opt for an MFD from Canon, HP, Epson or Brother depending on your budget.
